DESCRIPTION:          The course will allow insurance professionals to understand some of the unique liabilities faced by marinas and their operators, including both salt and freshwater marinas.  The course will be relevant to underwriters, brokers, and claims adjusters who are involved with first- and third-party insurance of marinas or similar facilities, such as boatyards.  Underwriters need to be aware of both the long-standing exposures and coverages for marinas, as well as emerging and changing issues.

AMUSF Educational Field Trip

The AMUSF Executive Committee has put together an exciting and informative opportunity for our membership in conjunction with the California Maritime Academy. The event will include the following:

 

·        Tour of California Maritime Academy provided by a CMA tour guide

·        Lunch at the CMA Dining Center

 

Please arrive promptly at 10:15am on Friday, October 20, 2017 and make your way to the CMA Administration Building located adjacent to Parking Area A for the tour. Once the tour is complete at ~12:00, we will head over to the Dining Center to enjoy lunch as a group.

The cost to attend includes a parking fee of $5.00 per vehicle and $11.75 for lunch in the Dining Center. The parking fee (cash only) will be due at time of parking as we assume that some may want to carpool and the lunch fee will be due at time of lunch paid to CMA direct at a cost of $11.75 per person, lunch may be paid via cash or debit/credit.

 DESCRIPTION:          The course will cover key principles of insurance coverage and issues relating to land-side construction risks, as well as the intersection between such risks and traditional marine insurance risks.  The course will address general principles of construction insurance, and then compare and contrast those  principles and issues with marine insurance principles and        issues, in particular relating to marine construction.

 The course will address state workers’ compensation coverage as compared to Jones Act (marine seaman) or longshore coverage, as well as general liability, auto, and marketplace issues.

We will be playing at the Scandia Center – 4300 Central Place, Fairfield, CA (off Highway 80)  http://scandiafamilycenter.com/

Tee off this year will be at 2:00 PM.  Plan your lunch and take into account the Friday afternoon traffic. 

The cost this year remains $20.00 which includes the carpet fees, prizes, and beverages at the award’s ceremony.  Children under 10 are only charged $10.00.
